Somali pirates threateningto life imprisonment in the United States

Charges on the ten items, including piracy and hostage-taking, brought the Somalis, who took over on April 8, the American container Maersk Alabama off the coast of Somalia. That was reported by the BBC.

Abduvali Abdukadir Muse the only band of sea robbers survived after an operation to release the master . He was captured on April 12, taken to the United States and appeared before the District Court of Manhattan. If convicted, he faces life imprisonment.

Recall Somali was captured in the Indian Ocean during the operation to release hostages taken by pirates captain of the American ship Maersk Alabama by Richard Phillips. Another three Somalis during the operation were killed.

Container Maersk Alabama with a cargo of humanitarian aid under the command of Robert Phillips was captured marine robbers on April 8. The team soon, however, managed to re-take the ship under control. Robert Phillips himself suggested pirates to take him hostage in exchange for the release of the ship and 19 crew members. Pirates and R. Phillips left the ship on a lifeboat, which left without fuel, they were adrift for several days in the Indian Ocean. April 12, R. Phillips was able to free themselves from captivity, and to get there by swimming to the U.S. military seamen.
