Moldovan Communists again advanced Grechany presidential candidate

Moldovan Communists re-nominated Prime Minister Zinaida Grechany presidential candidates. As stated by the First Vice-Speaker of Parliament, representing the Communist Vladimir Turcan, he handed over the necessary documents Z. Grechany for registration in the Special Commission for the presidential election.

As ITAR-TASS, the candidacy of acting Prime Minister of Moldova launched the 33 MPs from the faction of Communists. According to Vladimir Turcan, acting President Vladimir Voronin has not voted in favor of the candidacy in order to avoid any pressure on the other faction members.

Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission on Elections Valery Savva said, is likely to be represented by another candidate for the post of President of the country, while refusing to tell any details about this . He noted that the papers of candidates for the presidency will be accepted until May 23.

Recall, on the eve of the Parliament of Moldova is not able to elect the President at the first attempt. The candidate proposed by the Communist Party of Z. Grechany scored 60 votes, while Stanislav Gropu did not support more than one deputy. A total of 60 MPs attended the election of the Communists. The opposition boycotted the vote.
