Gaddafi upshop in Venezuelan Caribbean island summit
Gaddaffi, who tended to lift his traditional Bedouin tent in the places they visit, made his first trip to South America after President Hugo Chavez this month in Libya participated in the celebrations of its 40th anniversary in power.
Venezuelan Government officials declined to say whether Gaddafi sleep in the dark green tent erected in the garden of the hotel where he will meet South American and African leaders to strengthen political and trade ties.
Dressed in suit and white hat, the controversial leader arrived in the Caribbean resort island from New York, where in his first speech before the UN General Assembly criticized major powers for their power of veto in the Security Council of that organization.
On trips he made in the past in Russia, France and Italy, the Libyan leader like tents located in the U.S. city but not allowed install and had to stay in a hotel with his entourage.
At home, Gaddafi has a luxurious carpets and upholstery shop to receive guests, state visits and personalities.
Strong security measures governing the whole island, where you can see heavily armed soldiers patrolling the streets and snipers located on the top of the hotel where the summit will be held.
